Buckden Merlins are the Under 10 team of Buckden Junior Football Club.
The core of the team has been together for three seasons, and we have just enjoyed our most successful season to date, winning 10 of our league matches and losing just 2.
As always we scored lots of goals and at times perhaps conceded a few too many too. Having said that we generally worked very hard and passed the ball nicely. Always competitive we never lost by more than a single goal, and occasionally suffered from slow starts giving ourselves too much to do and falling just short.
When we played well we were a joy to watch and best of all the boys played with smiles on their faces.
This season we have been included in the A league which will be a different challenge. This is a great reward for the tremendous effort put in by the boys last season and we're really looking forward to it.
Our intetnion is to continue to pass the ball at every opportunity and try to be consistent. Above all we are going to enjoy ourselves, and we look forward to taking on all of our opponents in the true spirit of the beautiful game.
