The Buzzards played their first home game of the season against a spirited Chatteris side. Chatteris started the brighter of the two teams with some solid defending required by Buckden, the home side grew into the game with a headed goal from a corner scored by Sam (Sam's first goal for the Club!). Jow Pengelly added to the score after some great approach work from Ben and Harry. Chatteris were under pressure for the remainder of the first half and were unfortunate to conceed an own goal from another Buckden corner.
Chatteris started the second half the brighter of the two teams, scoring an early goal and quickly followed up with a second to make the score 3-2 to Buckden. The home side slowly regained control of the game after going close with Tom and Toby's efforts before Sam scored from another corner. Man of the match Joe P completed the scoring with his second of the match and Buckden's fifth running out 5-2 winners.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
